Navodi Wickramasinghe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics from Vinayaka Mission University, India in 2006 and a Master’s degree in Experimental Biotechnology from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2010. She started her career as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Biotechnology Unit of Plant Genetic Resources Center (PGRC), Gannoruwa. There she was actively involved in a USDA funded project called “Gene pyramiding of brown plant hopper resistance genes in rice”. In addition, she has several years of experience in the private sector as a product/application specialist, business development executive, and coordinator of high end biotech instruments. Prior to joining COSTI she was engaged in a private molecular biology diagnostics laboratory. Navodi joined COSTI on November 2014. She is responsible for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) intervention for biological resources and skills development in Sri Lanka.
