COSTI is planning to conduct a national survey under the sponsorship of the Asian Development Bank. Through this survey, it is expected to gather meaningful information on Science, Technology and Innovation initiatives and R&D programs conducted by 59 state sector organizations including Universities, falling under 19 ministries and from a selected group of business enterprises in Sri Lanka.

COSTI also expects to open up a dialog on issues faced in realizing economic benefit from institutional R&D sub-programs and wishes to address the need of a national level R&D framework through the findings.  While taking issues identified into the attention of relevant stakeholder for solutions, survey results will be used for benchmarking the status of R&D, national science, technology and innovation efforts with other countries.

The generic information generated through this survey will be shared with all government institutes/organizations and universities as well as with policy makers, funding agencies and other relevant stake holders. We believe that the results will assist in benchmarking R&D activities in the country, and developing and implementing national policies, strategies, plans, incentives and funding on R&D that would be of benefit to institutions and R&D organizations.

It is recomended to use the excel format as you can save your data for subsequent retrival. You may use the on-line format only if you are ready with all the information requested in the questionnaire as it has to be filled at once and submit.
