 2013 පෙබරවාරි මස 1 දින විද්‍යා, තාක්ෂණ  සහ නවෝත්පාදන පිලිබඳ සම්බන්ධිකරණ ලේකම් කාර්යාලය පිහිටවනු ලැබුයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවෙහි විද්‍යා, තාක්ෂණ සහ නවෝත්පාදන ක්‍රියාකාරකම් සම්බන්ධිකරණය සහ නියාමනය කිරීමේ විශේෂිත ඉලක්කය ඇතිව, 2011 සැප්තැම්බර් මස 9 වන දින අමාත්‍ය මණ්ඩලයෙන් ලද අනුමැතියෙන් යුතුවය. මෙම ලේකම් කාර්යාලය, 2010 අගෝස්තු

(Coordinator for Natinal Biotechnology Innovation Park and CERA)

 

Amali Ranasinghe counts more than 15 years of experience, working in the S&T sector in relation to research and research management fields where, she has experience from laboratory establishment to research planning, management of research and national policy development with multidisciplinary teams. Amali was a Norman E Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology fellow to USA in 2006 ( https://slideblast.com/food-and-agriculture_59685d951723dde751cd0eb2.html) and represented Sri Lanka in a number of delegations and fora, including in 2018 the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) to USA. She has been exposed and experienced, to both local and international arena in Science, Technology and Innovation. Considering her background and capacity, she has been nominated to serve in several National Committees by the National Science Foundation until seconded to COSTI to support the national initiatives. Witnessing her capabilities, Amali was invited to join the COSTI team to spearhead the, coordinating and monitoring of the STI activities for Sri Lanka in 2013. Among the national initiatives coordinated by COSTI, are the Centre of Excellence in Robotics Applications (CERA) and SRI LANKA Biotechnology Innovation Park (SLBIP) which support the development of innovation eco system and also increase the hi-tech exports for Sri Lanka. All activities including coordination and management of resources relevant to the above two initiatives are solely handled by Amali.
